Goodreads Monday: A Monster Calls

Hey Book Lovers!

Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren @ Lauren’s Page Turners and I cannot wait to bring you another book that is sitting on my TBR!

What is Goodreads Monday you ask? Goodreads Monday is picking a book that is on our TBR and showing it off, and I just love showing off books, so today I am showing off A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (inspired by an idea from Siobhan Dowd)!

September 27th 2011 by Walker Books

The monster showed up after midnight. As they do.

But it isn’t the monster Conor’s been expecting. He’s been expecting the one from his nightmare, the one he’s had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments, the one with the darkness and the wind and the screaming…

This monster is something different, though. Something ancient, something wild. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor.

It wants the truth.

My Comments:

A Monster Calls is a story Siobhan Dowd began, however unfortunately she did not get to finish her story. Patrick Ness completed this book for her, and I finally received my illustrated edition this month. I have heard so many rave reviews of A Monster Calls, which is an emotional roller-coaster, and I cannot wait to read it. Additional to that Jim Kay did the illustration work within this book, which is wonderful because he’s a fantastic artist who you may know from the Illustrated Edition’s of Harry Potter.

So that is it for me today, and if you have read A Monster Calls definitely let me know I would love to hear your thoughts on the book!

Thanks again to  Lauren’s Page Turners for creating this weekly meme, I love joining in!

Happy Reading Book Lovers!
